I read Ayn Rand’s book, “Anthem,” a couple of weeks ago, not knowing what to expect. I had read reviews that said Rand was somewhat of a libertarian, and having been recently soured on that political mindset I was somewhat reluctant to crack open that tome.

What I read was, instead, a well-written, albeit brief, essay on the dangers of collectivism and the importance of the individual. That resonated with me, given our current political climate and where we seem to be headed. I pray we never get to the point illustrated in the book, but if we’re not careful we’ll all be absorbed by the collective. Read the book if you get time.
