I haven’t posted in a while, so I don’t want the brain cells to get stale(er). Had a great opportunity today to go out to the Alliance Air Show practice in Fort Worth and see (arguably) the baddest airplane on the planet, the F-22 Raptor, do its demo. I’ve seen it before in an official capacity, and it’s always an awesome sight to see. Here’s an example, shot at an air show a while back:
I edited this back in 2007 – don’t let the username fool you, that’s not my post to YouTube. I frankly don’t know how it got there, and that’s a post for another time. But the main point of this post is, look at the awesomeness of this jet. It was designed for air dominance, but thanks to a spineless Secretary of Defense and an anti-American president, we’ll only get 187 of these jets, and it’s a crying shame. If you’re ever near an air show where the F-22 is going to perform, by all means go out and see it. Bring earplugs, because it’s loud. But it’s also the most amazing airplane you’ll ever see, and you – the American taxpayer – own it. Take pride in what America can still do.
