Anthony Andro’s blog in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram has a very good wrap-up of game 2 between the Yankees and the Rangers. One thing I might add to it, that he didn’t, is the serious angst we all felt as fans when Darren Oliver entered the game in the 8th inning and promptly walked Derek Jeter. Deja vu all over again, as Yogi would say. But he got two outs before giving way to Darren O’Day, who got the third out of the inning. This time, the bullpen redeemed itself and the Rangers won their first ever playoff game at home. Most of the monkeys are now gone, and there’s only one left – the World Series. At this point, the Rangers are now at parity with nearly every other team in MLB, having won (a) a playoff series, and (b) won a playoff game at home, as well as (c) a division championship. Now all they need is a pennant and a World Series flag flying over Arlington.
